MOME line – design works

The pinewood planks were used up down to the last centimeters as the first Hungarian Wood Festival came to an end in high spirits on Sunday. Not only the four required installations were finished but there was enough material left from the 4 kms of planks, offered by Jaf Holz, to experiment with some more structures and even to make a wooden Újirány logo. The cut-off bits and pieces, instead of going to the rubbish, helped to warm up the participants, who were chatting around the campfire on the closing night.

Preparations for the August Wood Festival have come to their final stages, the materials will be provided by Jaf Holz Ltd. and the teams have also been formed. The students were chosen from three Hungarian universities (BME, MOME, NYME-AMI).

Everyone is welcome in Csongrád, the location of the Wood Festival. The teams, composed of 20 designer and engineer students, are led by well-known architects and the freshly graduated artist, Gábor Miklós Szőke. By the end of the creative workshop four exciting installations or sculptures will be created by the participants, using 1000 meter pinewood planks and uncountable number of screws.
