deKULT 9.13

Our guest Péter Toronyi has just finished his MOME BA and won the first prize of the Koizumi International Design Competition in Japan, which is a real milestone. For the competition, which was organized for the 23rd time, designs for eco-friendly lamps were expected. Péter’s lamp, the Nissyoku fit the bill perfectly. The motto was ”In Search of the Way of Light …..Earth-friendly Lighting - Form of new era created by light & shadow”

The designer says that unlike those fleeting solar eclipses we see in the sky, the Nissyoku lamp lasts for up to 10 years. It’s also capable of morphing from one simple shape to the next, and can be suspended from the ceiling, a la a chandelier, or placed on a table, where it will neither burn out your eyes nor damage your table.

Tune in for deKULT at 6 p.m. on Monday!
