The EMS storage doors had the winning artworks of our competition painted on them

We started our competition for Euro Mini Storage at the beginning of May and received 51 entries by 17 students (and ex-students).
We were especially pleased that we received entries not only by our graphic design faculty students, but from other areas too such as the textiles, video and architecture faculties.

In the end, together with Euro Mini Storage we chose seven works to be painted, splashed and sprayed on the doors of the warehouses on Gyáli road on the 8th of July alongside a media event. Beside the topic and original idea, important factors included the graphics matching the company’s colour scheme and being eyecatching.

Chosen entries were:
Gábor Egyed: Kissing couple
Tímea Ferth: The guards
Mónika Gyúró, Nelli Nógrádi, Laura Papp: Elephant breaking through gate with logo
Máté Mlinarics: The eye
Zoe Molnár: Tornado
Richárd Orosz: Cuddly
Krisztina Szűcs: Head

After the press conference, Danu M. Temelie, managing director of Euro Mini Storage announced the winners. First prize was won by Tímea Ferth’s “Őrzők” (“Guards”) which shows a sleeping lady with small creatures guarding her dream. Máté Mlinarics’s graphic depicting a huge eye came second, while Richard Orosz’s artwork entitled “Bújós” came third showing a figure hiding in the small space of the door.
Zsófia Farkas‘ “Macska” (“Cat”) has been separately awarded by the judges, so it could be included among the artworks to be realized. We expect she will paint her piece next week. The company will be covering the costs of the winners’ scholarships and costs of the artworks.
